Set up,Murphy thought the stones were a bit rough so I gave him a little comfort!
CORROBOREE BILLABONG SUNSET CRUISE....part of the Mary River south east Darwin about 80kms out! Well what a experience,so many crocodiles and wild life !
Sunset didn't display it's true colours but none the less ,special!
Big lotus leaves!!
First sighting.....
Pussycat, our tour guide had a name for each one !
This one was within touching, right up against the side of the boat,I could have stroked him ,not!!!
Sea Eagle checking us out!
Actually keeping an eye on its fledglings.
Just coming into bloom. It was so serene no motor floating along!
Meet Becky, pretty little sweetheart! Dig the teeth!
Full view!
Flock of ducks!
Brown herring keeping an eye on the freshwater croc that co exist with the saltys!
A bit more colour but too many clouds.
Jesus!! There's a Jesus Bird! Tiny about 15 cm high!
Reflective!!
Goodbye ........
TUESDAY 20TH MAY...up early 140 kms to Jabiru to catch a scenic flight over Kakadu/ Arnhem Land...not sure why I bothered, lasted 10 mins then thanks for the spew bag, only took the first few pics,my assistant,Buck took the rest!!! Seven of us in the plane plus the pilot and like he said,it's only a box with wings!
That's it!
Beautiful..
The Archway aprox 80 meters high..
Alligator River.. The guy who first explored this area thought the crocodiles were alligators! Not quite up with recognition of the species.
Wetlands...
This will give you some perspective of how big Kakadu is,if you travelled down every road and track you'd only cover 1 percent of it!!! Amazing! There is a mine within its perimeters,Ranger Mine, mines aprox 10 percent of the worlds uranium needs! They own the airport and Jabiru where the miners stay when they are working,a lot fly in and out. 17 percent of the workers are aboriginal. That concludes our stay at the Bark Hut Inn...off to Litchfield park tomorrow!
